Zaquia Luisa Salinas: A Call to Prayer

A Call to Prayer is an immersive, participatory performance project that blends embodied ritual with collaborative installation.

Our current artist-in-residence at Lamplight’s Residency at 821 Haywood, Zaquia Salinas, will develop installation elements – integrating objects, projections, and spatial design – while inviting community members to participate directly. Visitors are encouraged to contribute offerings to the space and engage in intimate, one-to-one (or small group) performance appointments with the artist.

Join Zaquia Salinas and collaborator Guillermo Castro to contribute an offering to the altar, and experience a 1-to-1 performance.

A Call to Prayer Closing Event:

Saturday, May 10th
6:00-9:00 PM
The culminating event for A Call to Prayer will be a time to gather in the space and explore the installation, what the community has contributed to the altar, and engage in a guided embodied meditation accessible for all.
