Lamplight AVL is an arts non-profit that provides residency programs. In all of these programs, we provide space, time, and resources to artists so they can create innovative work and share it with our community.
Our current programs include The Residency at 821 and The Drop of Sun Collab. Although housed in the same building at 821 Haywood Road is West Asheville, these programs are completely distinct and offer two very different experiences for artists. These programs both lift up experimental, unusual, and innovative work that moves the cultural conversation forward. All artists in our residency programs receive the dedication and care of our team throughout their stay, and all artists must share their work with our community.
the residency at 821
The Residency at 821 is housed in the smaller front area of our building. It offers stays to artists of all genres for residencies of up to 28 days. The resources of Drop of Sun Studios are not included with these residencies. Emily McDaniel manages this program.
drop of sun collab
The Drop of Sun Collab residency takes place in Drop of Sun Studios, housed in the back area of our building. It offers stays to a small, hand-curated roster of musicians for shorter-term residencies. Adam McDaniel manages this program. At this moment, the Drop of Sun Program is full.
