Lamplight Studios Artists

Meghan Korol

Meghan Korol

I’m a multidisciplinary artist (focused in metalsmithing) based near Asheville, North Carolina since 2010. My creative practice with metal began in high school and continued via a BFA at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, where I learned to weave and expand my work in textiles.

As a lover of outdoor exploration and adventure, I’m continually inspired by time spent in nature and places I‘ve visited; botanical influences and found objects are a common theme in my art. After a long break, I’m so excited to return to and develop a committed art practice at my first dedicated studio in Lamplight Studios!

Alison Antaramian

Alison Antaramian

Alison Antaramian is a self-taught artist living in Asheville, NC. She focuses on making colorful and cartoonish paper clay sculptures but is also a songwriter and front person for her band, Wagging.

Her work is often character-driven and humorous; a snapshot from a melancholic yet delightful doofus’s life.

 Zoie Reamer

Zoie Reamer

Zoie Reamer is a multimedia artist with a focus on process-based creation. She often uses landscape painting and other observational methods as an entryway into abstracted work, combining technical methods and imagery to create something new. In her process-based work, she utilizes a more randomized technique. One mark, cut, or spill leads to the next, allowing the process to guide her hand. Layering, using many materials, and destroying/recreating are all a part of this process.

Sophie Hull

Sophie Hull

Iron Rhino Press

As a multidisciplinary artist, community organizer, “retired” photojournalist, and studied sociologist, I am interested in exploring how art and music can function as a meeting place. My practices view how this personal and/or shared experience requires a sustained presence. Within this conceptual space, viewers and listeners are invited into reflection and connection, both on an individual and collective level. Often the artistic concepts are driven by the subtle energy that emerges from the people, structures and cosmic landscape that shape our lives.

Martha Skinner

Martha Skinner

Martha is an interdisciplinary artist. In her early work as visionary & professor of architecture, she created drawings in 2, 3, & 4 dimensions, slivers of life, CiTy-Scans & cross sections across time, through culture & the physical spaces that contain life. Her work as much reinterpretation of drawing as examinations of humanity.

Her words:

I create drawings that are spaces performances, installations, products. Playfully subverting & transforming issues that need addressing through works emerging as celebrations of life

From inhabitable to wearable, drawings as vehicles for connection. Transforming the world one drawing at a time. Playful, inspiring, transformative

Drawings you hang in your home. Drawings I inhabit & you experience. Drawings we inhabit & create together. Drawings you take wherever you go

From immersive & participatory to tiny & personal. Connection

My life is a drawing. I am the drawing. The drawing is my process.
