program three

supporting artists in the aftermath of helene

The artists and arts organizations that make the Asheville area the special, vibrant place we call home have been deeply impacted by Hurricane Helene. Many have lost homes, studios, equipment, livelihoods.

This Program enables artists to recover, remain in the area, and continue to create the work that inspires our community. Funds secured from donors and grants are distributed directly to artists over multiple phased projects, ensuring that recovery is both immediate and foundational, and maintaining the Asheville area’s identity as an arts haven for residents and visitors alike.

Project One

Project One is a joint recovery effort by Lamplight AVL and Make Noise Music focusing on the immediate needs of our community.

Details and application coming soon.

Project Two

Project Two distributes funds from donors and grants, focusing on foundational, longer term stabilization of “community connectors” – artists or businesses that serve as hubs with wide ripple on their immediate circles. These folks know what their close community members need; when they are stabilized, they are empowered to impact those spheres more impactfully.
